NOGA/Mission

We are committed to a well-regulated, attractive and safe online gambling market in the Netherlands with a level playing field

NOGA stands for a constructive dialogue with all directly interested parties in the gaming industry, based as much as possible on facts and figures, supplemented with the input of expertise gained in the Netherlands and in other European online gambling markets.

The affiliated members make their knowledge and experience available in order to ensure and fortify an appropriate legislative framework in close cooperation and consultation with the government and the other actors that provides for an open licensing system for online gambling in the Netherlands, with maximum consumer protection and industry integrity.

Online trade association

The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) is the industry association and advocate of online gambling providers who bet on a safe, responsible and varied online gambling offer in the Netherlands. Thirteen major internationally renowned online gambling providers licensed in several European countries are currently members of NOGA, including among others Bayton, bet365, BetCity, Betsson, BetwayEntain, Flutter, Kindred, LeoVegas, LiveScore Bet, Nuvei and Tombola.

Dialogue

NOGA stands for a constructive dialogue with all stakeholders in the Dutch gaming industry, based as much as possible on facts and numbers added with the contribution of its expertise gained in the Netherlands and in other European online gambling markets. The affiliated members make their knowledge and experience available in close cooperation and consultation with Dutch government and other actors to ensure and fortify an appropriate legislative framework that provides for an open licensing system for online gambling in the Netherlands, in which the consumer is protected and integrity in the market ensured.

Channelisation and information

NOGA’s main objective is channelisation: a gambling market in which Dutch consumers can legally gamble online, on websites of their choice as much as possible or exclusively with various providers with a online licence issued by the Dutch government. Channelisation increases when players have access to an attractive and varied legal offering that is determined by gaming fun, different game types and game safety.

In addition, NOGA provides information and documentation on all aspects of online gambling, such as responsible gambling, the development of the games of the gambling market at national and European level and integrity within sports.

Cooperation

In addition to the close cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, NOGA also regularly consults with other local stakeholders and land based Dutch gambling providers and their trade associations, VAN Kansspelen and VNLOK. Furthermore, NOGA is a member of ECP | Platform for the Information Society, a participant of the Dutch Advertising Body SRC and NOGA also collaborates with the Royal Dutch Normalisation Institute NEN, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the Netherlands Sports Council. NOGA also participates on the Platform Digital Government for companies and supports, collaborates and is supported by expert organisations from the Dutch healthcare sector. And finally, the director of NOGA serves qualitatively on the Advisory Board of KVA and NOGA is a member of SBC Leaders and a local partner of the international AllIn Diversity Project.

Further internationally, NOGA is affiliated and works closely together with the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), the UK based Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), the Portuguese trade association (APAJO) the Swedish trade association (BOS) and occasionally with a large number of other  European sister trade bodies in, amongst others, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Norway, Romania and Spain.
